Laura was born in Phoenix, AZ but grew up right here in McCurtain County. She graduated from Broken Bow High School in 1994. Laura is blessed with two beautiful daughters, Lexxi Courtney, who is a Pediatric Registered Dietician at Cooks Children’s Hospital in Ft. Worth, Texas and Lauren Courtney, who is a drum playing, guitar strumming, singing sophomore at Idabel High School. Her sweetheart, Tony Weese, is an EMT for Choctaw County Ambulance Authority. She happily said “YES!” to the ring on Christmas Day, 2018. No wedding date has been set as of yet.
Laura dreamed of being an Emergency Room Registered Nurse and has been working in that role for almost two years. She is also finding an additional, soulfully fulfilling love as a Hospice Nurse. She hopes to someday become a flight nurse. Laura obtained a certification in holistic health coaching from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition in October 2017 and tells us that the certification she obtained has been such a beautiful blessing in her life’s journey. She is currently enrolled at Northwestern Oklahoma State University where she will be obtaining her Bachelor of Science in Nursing and hopes to be graduating in the Fall of 2020.
Laura is excited and grateful to be a part of the Brumley Funeral Home Family, and although just comes to us only occasionally, she tells us she loves the time she spends here and that she is very humbled to be able to spend time with the family and friends, as they gather to love and honor their loved one.
