Obituary

Virginia Jefferson, 84, of Bethel, passed from this life on November 8, 2020 in Dallas, TX.  Virginia was born January 25, 1936 in Bethel to Ed Samuel and Melcie (Bond) Peters.

Virginia also known as “Cena” to some was a lifelong resident of Bethel, OK and was a proud member of the Kulli Chito Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed going to gospel singings and having family near her.  Virginia could always be found at the Choctaw Nation Senior Citizens Center playing bingo or chair volleyball games.  She enjoyed her dogs and taking care of her chickens.

Virginia was preceded in death by her parents; Ed and Melcie Peters; sons, Roy Dale, Jeffery, and Eugene Jefferson; sisters, Effie Shomo and Jasney Wade; three great-great-grandchildren; and brother-in-law, Ed Howell.

Virginia leaves to cherish her memory, her loving children, Albert Shomo, of Bethel, Huey Jefferson, Jr., of Bethel, Russell Jefferson, of Hominy, Patricia Shomo, of Bethel, and Deloris Samuels, of Idabel; brother, Sam Peters, of Hugo; sisters, Melissa Bohanan, of Bethel, and Francis Howell, of Wichita, KS; 31 grandchildren; 65 great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; a host of other relatives and many friends, including her special friend and nurse, Elenore Jefferson, of Bethel.

A Celebration of Life Graveside Service will be Thursday, November 12, 2020 at the Kulli Chito Cemetery at 2:00PM, with Bro. Mark Patrick officiating.  Viewing will be Wednesday, November 11, 2020 at Brumley Funeral Home, Broken Bow.
