Obituary

Virgil Ray Battiest, 75, of Broken Bow, passed from this life July 31, 2020 at his home.  Virgil was born December 30, 1944 in Broken Bow to James Ray and Elsie (Williams) Battiest. 

 

Virgil was a member of the Agape Church in Broken Bow and had lived in Broken Bow most of his life.  He could always be found on the softball field playing fast pinch.  He also enjoyed doing bead work. 

 

He and Geraldine met in Broken Bow around 2004 and have spent the last 16 years traveling together.

 

Virgil was preceded in death by his parents, James and Elsie Battiest; brother, Joe Battiest; niece, Andrea Battiest; and nephew, Joe Battiest, Jr.

 

Virgil is survived by Geraldine Wallace, of the home; sons, Anthony Noah, and wife, Melissa, of Holly Creek, Bruce Battiest, of Broken Bow, and Jimmy Battiest, and fiancé, Tracy King, of Talihina; daughters, Stephanie Battice, and husband, Stephen, of Cameron, and Christina Battiest, of Poteau; brother, Austin Battiest, and wife, Barbara K., of Broken Bow; sister, Eveline Steele, and husband, Dale, of Broken Bow; grandchildren, Trenton, Kaylee, Alicea, Dustin, Shalyn, Chakota, Bruce Jr., Emma, Marriah, Scottie, Dakotha, Amber, Michael, Brandon, Brianna, and Kolby; great-grandchildren, Braxton, Cora, Clair, Aubrie and Grayson; nieces and nephews, Korey, Kevin, Ryan, Terry, James, Diane, Christy, Karen, and Valerie; other relatives and special friends, Janell Wesley, of Broken Bow, and Lawrence Obe, of Idabel.

 

Viewing for Virgil will be Wednesday from 9-8 at the funeral home with private services to follow.
