Mary E. Shrouder, 88, of Broken Bow, passed from this life November 1, 2020 at Idabel, OK. Mary was born February 8, 1932 in DeQueen, AR, to John W. and Lily (Campbell) Graham.
Mary was a member of the First Baptist Church, Broken Bow, and had lived in McCurtain County since 1968 coming from Savannah, Georgia. She was a proud member of the Eastern Stars, active in the Idabel Chamber of Commerce, and loved dancing in the Square B Club. Mary retired from the United States Postal Service after 14 years of service. She was postmaster at Smithville, Boswell, and Idabel Post Offices. Mary loved being with her family. Her pride and joy were her grandchildren. She also enjoyed being with her friends during Sunday School Class.
She married the love of her life Chester Earl Shrouder in DeQueen on June 3, 1950. They spent a wonderful 60 years together until his passing in November 2010.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John W. and Lily Graham; foster parents, Neil and Birdie Christian; son, Robert Shrouder; and loving husband, Chester Earl Shrouder.
Mary leaves to cherish her memory, her children, Robin and Sally Shrouder, of Garvin, Roy and Debbie Shrouder, of Garvin, and Tom and Sindy Shrouder, of Upland, CA; brother, John and Dot Graham, of Garland, TX; daughter-in-law, Melony Shrouder, of Boerne, TX; grandchildren, Christie and B.J. Angermiller, of Boerne, RaeAnn and Craig Dodds, of Woodland, TX, Rachell McKenney, Allen, TX, Randell and Isabel Shrouder, of O’Fallon, Illinios, Ryan Shrouder, of Broken Bow, Tyler and Catherine Shrouder, of Tulsa, Brooke Butler, of Ardmore, Sara Thompson, Seattle, WA, Rachel Stima, of Kent, WA, George Shrouder, of Upland, CA, Johnny Graham, of Garland, TX, Sarah Means, of Idabel, and Cindy Lee, of Nashville, TN; great-grandchildren, Ryder Clausen, Taylor Nilson, Elizabeth Mary McKenney, Oliver Shrouder, Willow Shrouder, and Braydon and Madison Stima; special cousins, Bill, Charlotte, and Sandy Lee, Roger and Gail Shrouder, James and Pat Lee, and Susan Graham; nieces and nephews, Billy Sargent, Wanda Edwards, and Linda Edwards, and a host of other friends and relatives.
A Celebration of Life Graveside Service will be Thursday, 2PM at the Crown Hill Cemetery, Broken Bow, with Pastor Chuck Darby officiating.
Visitation will be Wednesday from 6-8 at the Brumley Funeral Home Chapel.
