Margarette “Ninn” Pate, 84, passed away in Lawton, OK on November 17, 2020. She called Durant, OK home until moving to Apache, OK with family due to complications from Parkinson’s Disease.
Margarette was born on December 1, 1935 to Elbert “Ned” and Mary Banner Rose Craddock in Pickens, OK. She married Kenneth “Sonny” Pate on May 5, 1955 in Hugo, OK. Margarette loved taking care of her family and others. Her favorite pastime was quilting, crocheting, embroidering, and fishing. She loved to go garage selling and collecting rocks and keys. In their early years, she and Kenneth lived in Clebit, OK where Kenneth worked in the log woods. Later, Kenneth ran heavy equipment on pipeline jobs. This allowed them to travel and see a lot of the US countryside. Margarette was a member of the 7th & Beech Church of Christ.
She is survived by two children, Kay Young of Apache, OK and Kenney Pate (Becky) of Valliant, OK; sister-in-law, Norma Craddock; nine grandchildren, Wyatt Young (LaShawna) of Melrose, NM, Tye Young (Deanna) of Anadarko, OK, Twyla Cates (Kelly) of Channing, TX, Will Young (Calli) of Griggs, OK, Justin Wall (Dianne) of Valliant, OK, Curstin Pate of Valliant, OK, Chasity Grayson (Cody) of DeKalb, TX, Charlie DeLozier (Sara) of Haworth, OK, Charity Alderman (Marvin) of Idabel, OK; 22 Great-grandchildren with one on the way; and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband Kenneth Pate; one grandchild, Sidnei Pate; her parents, Ned and Mary Craddock; and siblings Delbert Craddock and Irene Lemon.
Graveside services will be on Saturday, November 21, 2020 at 2:00 PM in the Countyline Cemetery. Services held by Brumley Funeral Home in Broken Bow, OK.
