Linda Hughes, of Broken Bow, passed peacefully from this life November 2, 2020, in Broken Bow. Linda was born November 3, 1942 in Nash, TX, to Grover Andrew and Edna Beatrice (Bond) Grigsby.
Linda was affiliated with the Kingdom Hall and had lived in Broken Bow for most of her life. She retired from the United States Postal Service after 30 plus years; where she made several friends and a few enemies. Linda enjoyed watching Nascar races and working sudoku puzzles. She also enjoyed quilting. She could always be found with a Dr. Pepper in her hand.
She married the love of her life Al Hughes in Idabel on August 19, 1961. They enjoyed going to flea markets and auctions together. They were married 52 years until his passing in 2013.
Linda was preceded in death by her husband, Al; parents, Grover and Edna Grigsby; sister, Virginia Grigsby; and brothers, Donald, Robert and Lewis Grigsby.
Linda is survived by her sons, Boyd Hughes, and Beverly, of Pecos, NM, Doug Hughes, and Tammy, of Cloverdale, CA, and Keith Hughes, and Sandra, of Broken Bow; brother, Harold Grigsby, of Clayton, OK; grandchildren, Jason, Wendy, Shelby, Matthew, Nelson, Lane, Michael, Kesley, Keelie, Kaylee, and Kamden; 12 great-grandchildren and one on the way; many nieces and nephews; special friends, Adra Melson, of Broken Bow, and Jean Latta, also of Broken Bow; her four legged feline pal, Miss Pris; along with many numerous other friends.
A Celebration of Life Service will be Monday, November 9, 2020 at 2PM at the Brumley Funeral Home Chapel.
