Obituary

Lee A. Battiest, 68, of Broken Bow, passed from this life July 6, 2020 at Texarkana, TX.  Lee was born August 24, 1951 to Willie Battiest Sr and Kissie (Walls) Battiest.

Lee was a member of the Myrtlewood Baptist Church and had lived in McCurtain County most of his life.  He enjoyed playing, coaching, and watching softball.  Lee loved to go walking.  He was friendly and outgoing; and never met a stranger.  Lee loved spending time with his grandchildren.

He married Evelyn Wood on August 24, 2019 at the Myrtlewood Church, Broken Bow.

Lee was preceded in death by his parents; son, Michael Allen (Stoney) Battiest; three brothers, Tom, Willie, and Leon Battiest; siblings Nellie Wade, Leo Battiest, Orie Battiest, Olena Orona, and Alice Boston; and a sister, Ethel McKinney.

Lee leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Evelyn Wood, of the home; daughter, Jessie Mackey, and husband, Kameron, of Ada; brother, Lawrence Battiest, of Broken Bow; grandchildren, Michaela, Alex, Aubrey, Mia, Mieiah, Acelin, Nenikko, Jasiah, Mahli, Tenefke, Okomba, and Hashonti; special nieces Marilyn Wilson and Linda Wade; along with a host of other relatives and many friends.

A Celebration of Life Graveside Service will be Friday, July 10, 2020 at 10:00am at the Myrtlewood Cemetery, Broken Bow, with Stanley Shomo officiating.
