Larry Olen Murray, of Holly Creek, OK, was born on February 24, 1948 in Winthrop, AR. He passed from this life on December 28, 2020 in Talihina, OK.
Larry served in the US Army and was active during the Vietnam conflict serving his country with honor. He liked to participate in the demolition of old buildings and structures, and he was known to bring home some of the materials and reuse them. He also enjoyed fishing, telling jokes, and he never met a stranger. He is remembered by his family as a hard worker as well as a loving father and grandfather. He was very proud of his service to his country—“Semper Fortis”.
Larry was preceded in death by his father, Silas Olen Murray; mother, Jewell Ridge Clark; brothers, Lonnie William Murray and Ricky George Murray; and sister, Jan Murray Duncan.
He is survived by his wife, Debbie Murray of Holly Creek, OK; sons, Larry Robert “Robbo” Murray (wife, Angie) of Commerce, TX, Rodney Clay Murray of Holly Creek, OK, and Ryan Sinclair Murray of California; daughters, Christy Diann Murray (fiancée, Kevin) of Achille, OK and Loni Renee Murray of Broken Bow, OK; sister, Pam Lininger (husband, Wes) of Broken Bow, OK; as well as sixteen grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, and extended family members.
Cremation arrangements were handled by Brumley Funeral Home of Broken Bow, OK.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
