Gloria June Poole, of Broken Bow, passed from this life February 27, 2021 in Plano, TX.  June was born July 29, 1932 in Broken Bow, to Homer Virgil and Birdie Bell (Chappell) Edmonson.

June was a member of the First Baptist Church of Broken Bow and had lived in Broken Bow all her life.  June graduated from Broken Bow High in 1950; being the first class out of Johnson Hall.  She retired from the United States Postal Service as a rural carrier. June also worked at a dress shop in Broken Bow and then Bruton’s for Jack and Will Ed Bruton.  Her hobbies included working at the church, garden club, and helping with the 39ers club.  June loved to garden and take care of her yard. 

June married Ledger Poole on September 16, 1950 in DeQueen, AR.  They spent a wonderful 54 years together until his passing in 2004.

June was preceded in death by her parents, Homer and Birdie Edmonson; her loving husband, Ledger; son, Bo Poole; grandson, Chase Claussen; three sisters, Katie Jewell, Dorothy Touchstone, and Bonnie Edmonson.

June is survived by her three children, Vicky Farley, and husband, Randy, of Idabel, Shonda Hendon, of Broken Bow, and Kelly Poole, of Broken Bow; six grandchildren, Jeremy Poole, and wife, Kristi, of Eagletown, Dusty Laster, of Broken Bow, Aaron Laster, and wife, Leah, of Eagletown, Clark Robbins, and wife, Brenda, of Orlando, OK, Chelsea Hendon, of Broken Bow, and Courtney Hendon, of Broken Bow; four great-grandchildren, Justin Poole, Hannah Laster, Ellie Laster, and Landyn Guilbeau; two sisters, Doris Williams, of Houston, TX, and JoAnn Grams, of Valliant; numerous nieces and nephews; a host of other relatives and many friends, including her wonderful church family and friends.

A Celebration of Life Service will be Wednesday, March 3, 2021 at 2PM at the First Baptist Church of Broken Bow, with Pastor Pete Wilson officiating and Lynn Walden assisting.  Pallbearers will include Steve Daniel, Lynn Walden, Ray Pruett, Daryl Thomason, Josh Pike, and Melvin Cavender.  Burial will follow at Broken Bow Cemetery.

Visitation will be Tuesday, March 2, 2021 from 6-8PM at Brumley Funeral Home, Broken Bow.
