John Dale Batey, Jr. was born on Christmas Day, December 25, 1984, in Idabel, OK. He passed from this life on October 11, 2020 also in Idabel, OK.
John really was a gift to his family. Growing up, he was a sweet child most of the time, but like all children, he could be stubborn. He didn’t like school because he didn’t like to get up early, but by the grace of God, he made it. He grew up into a fine young man. John found joy in making other people laugh, and he could be friends with anyone. John also loved to fish, and he was pretty good at it. He was a hard worker, and he supported his family. He was a wonderful son, brother, husband, father, and friend. He loved his entire family—even aunts like mothers and cousins like brothers and sisters.
John was preceded in death by his father, John Dale Batey, Sr.; paternal grandparents, J.B. and Mattie Batey; maternal grandparents, Samairon and Rufue Galloway; sister, Rachel Gardner; aunts, Mary Ann Batey and Gertrude Moss; uncle, Willie Batey; and cousins, Tyrone Haney and James Haney.
