Jimmy "Painter" Moore, age 88, of Broken Bow, Oklahoma died Tuesday, January 4, 2022, at the McCurtain Memorial Hospital in Idabel, Oklahoma. He was born on Tuesday, October 24, 1933, to James Leon and Denzil Grace Breedlove Moore in Broken Bow, Oklahoma.
As a child, Painter and his friends would go and spend days out hunting and fishing, exploring the countryside and hunting for arrowheads. Painter was a very good football player and also played once he joined the United States Army. In 1960, he met and married the love of his life Betty Kelly and was blessed to have 61 blessed years together. Painter attended the First Assembly of God in Broken Bow and taught the Royal Rangers for several years. He worked over 40 years as a mill wright for Weyerhaeuser and Pan Pacific in Broken Bow. He loved his grandchildren and taking them to do the things he liked to do as a youngster. Painter was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle, and friend. He will be truly missed by everyone who loved and knew him.
Painter is preceded in death by his parents.
Painter is survived by his wife, Betty Moore of Broken Bow, Oklahoma, his son, Jimmy Dale Moore of Broken Bow, Oklahoma; daughter and son in law, Teresa and Joey Taylor of Broken Bow, Oklahoma; four grandchildren, Brittney and husband Dimitri Alexandris of Richardson, Texas, Griffin Taylor of Broken Bow, Oklahoma, Hunter Moore of Garrison, North Dakota and Presley Taylor of Broken Bow, Oklahoma; three great grandchildren, Christopher Alexandris, Peri Alexandris and Eleanor Alexandris; several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
A Celebration of Life Service will be Saturday, January 8, 2022, at 2:00 P.M. at the First Assembly of God Church in Broken Bow, Oklahoma. Visitation will be Friday, January 7, 2022, from 6-8 P.M. at the Bowser Family Funeral Home Chapel in Broken Bow, Oklahoma. Interment will follow in the Broken Bow Cemetery in Broken Bow, Oklahoma. Arrangements are entrusted to Bowser Family Funeral Home in Broken Bow, Oklahoma.
