Jerry Lowman, age 75, of Watson, OK, passed away October 31, 2020 in Ft. Smith, AR. He was born January 12, 1945 to LeRoy and Minnie (Simmons) Lowman, at Talihina, OK.
Jerry was an Elder of the Buffalo Presbyterian Church and held many offices within the church. Jerry also served on the Worship Leader committee with the Choctaw Agency. He was a skidder driver, sawmill worker, and coached all his nephews in little league. He was also a Choctaw silversmith and known for making stickball stick jewelry. Jerry worked part-time for Choctaw Nation as a groundskeeper. He was an avid OU fan, loved family gatherings and watching sports.
Jerry and Shirley both were Choctaw Chanter’s of the “Oklahoma Chahta Hiltha” social dancing group.
Jerry was preceded in death by his wife, of 55 years, Shirley Lowman; sister, Jackie Lowman; brothers, Larry and James Lowman; and his parents, LeRoy and Minnie Lowman.
Jerry is survived by one daughter, Karen Hackney, and husband, Tommy, of Hatfield, AR; son, Dewayne Lowman, of Watson, OK; sister, Darlene Noahubi, and husband, Alton, of Bethel, OK; two brothers, Jimmy Lowman, of Idabel, and LeRoy Lowman, Jr, and wife, Pat, of Oklahoma City, OK.
