James Raymond “Jimmy” McDonald was born on April 14, 1962 in De Queen, AR to James and Virginia McDonald. He passed from this life on February 6, 2020 at the age of 57.
Jimmy lived in McCurtain County for most of his life and was a truck driver for a number of years driving a Western Star rig. Fellow drivers and coworkers knew him over the CB airwaves as “Gopher”. He enjoyed hunting & fishing, riding his Harley Davidson, working on things—he was a jack-of-all-trades—and spending time with his friends and family.
Jimmy was married to Carol Green on April 18, 1980 at the First Baptist Church of Wright City, OK. They would’ve celebrated their fortieth wedding anniversary this year.
Jimmy was preceded in death by his mother, Virginia McDonald; and a brother, Willie McDonald.
He is survived by his wife, Carol McDonald of the home; his father, James McDonald (wife, Delia) of Broken Bow, OK; sons, Tyson McDonald (wife, Lindsey) of Valliant, OK, Whit McDonald (wife, Kate) of Mannford, OK, and Wesley McDonald of Sapulpa, OK; brothers, David McDonald of Ringold, OK, Bobby McDonald (wife, Crystal) of Wright City, OK, and Jason McDonald of Broken Bow, OK; sister, Suzie McDonald-Lambeth (husband, Craig) of Pryor, OK; grandchildren, Dakota McDonald, Logan McDonald, Owen McDonald, Nicole McDonald, and Rainey McDonald; and several nieces & nephews.
A visitation for family and friends will be held from 6:00-8:00 PM on Wednesday, February 12, 2020 at the Brumley Funeral Home Chapel in Broken Bow, OK.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10:00 AM, Thursday, February 13, 2020 at the Lukfata Baptist Church in Broken Bow, OK.
Pallbearers will be Tyson McDonald, Whitney McDonald, Wesley McDonald, Dakota McDonald, Bobby McDonald, Kendal McDonald, Logan McDonald, and Richard Jackson.
Burial will be at the Greenhill Cemetery in Cameron, OK.
