James Olan Barrick, of Broken Bow, passed from this life surrounded by his loving family February 4, 2021 at his home. James was born February 15, 1934 in Goodwater, to Willie Lee and Maggie Elizabeth (Whiteman) Barrick.
James was of the Baptist Faith and had lived in Broken Bow for the last 58 years coming from Goodwater. James was a rancher most of his life; enjoying his cattle and gardening. He loved watching t.v., playing his guitar, and listening to the Dixie Chicks. His grandchildren were a delight to him, and he loved spending time with them. James worked at Passmore Grocery from 1962-1993.
James proudly served the United States in the Marine Corp during the years of 1954-1957.
James married the love of his life, Ann Passmore, on November 4, 1962 at Oak Grove Baptist Church in Broken Bow. They enjoyed traveling together. They spent a wonderful 54 years together until her passing in 2016.
James was preceded in death by his wife, Ann; his parents, Willie and Maggie Barrick; his brother; his three sisters; and his mother and father-in-law, Willie and Gladys Passmore.
James is survived by his children, Cindy Neill, and husband, Thomas, of Broken Bow, and Donna Ayers, and husband, Keelen, of DeQueen; grandchildren, Carrie Fletcher, and husband, Josh, Wendy Krieger, and husband, Jim, Clayton Neill, and Blake Ayers, and wife, Lauren; great-grandchildren, Jayci Krieger, Becca Cunningham, Kella Fletcher, and Adain Ayers; several nieces and nephews; along with a host of other relatives and friends.
A Celebration of Life Service will be Monday, February 8, 2021 at 10AM, at the Broken Bow Cemetery, with Pastor Randy Watkins officiating.
Visitation will be Sunday, February 7, 2021 from 2-4 at Brumley Funeral Home.
