Obituary

Graveside services for Harold Gene Cogburn will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, January 31, 2020 at the Sobol Cemetery, with Kenny Cogburn officiating.

Harold Gene Cogburn, of Wright City, passed from this life on January 27, 2020, surrounded by family at his home of forty-six years. Harold was born on August 23, 1948 to Thelbert “Weavel” Cogburn and Jimmie Catherine (Noel) Cogburn.

Harold was a man with a strong work ethic, dedicating over 25 years to Lane Processing and later Tyson Foods. After moving to his current home in 1973, he spent his spare time working as a cattle rancher. You could often find him watching the price of beef on RFD, or in the fields checking the herd. Harold was a quiet man, who loved his family and spent as much time as he could with them. He especially enjoyed his grandchildren. He was also a member of the Wright City Baptist Church.

Harold was preceded in death by his father, “Weavel” Cogburn; the mother of his children, Helen Cogburn; his second wife, Libby Wolfe Cogburn; his children, Mark and Kathy Cogburn; stepdaughter, Mandy Allensworth; and one brother, Vick Cogburn.

Surviving relatives include his mother, Jimmie Williamson, and husband Bud, of Wright City; one son, Larry Cogburn, and wife Dana, of Wright City; one daughter, Tamara Burnette of Yukon; grandchildren: Chris and Kayla Rozell, Dexter Cogburn, Brendon and Riley Burnette; great-grandchildren: Audrey, Dylan, and Nathan Rozell; and one brother, Randy Cogburn, and wife Kathy, of Millerton; along with a host of relatives and close friends.
