Obituary

Greg Dee Willie "Chief", age 63, of Wright City, Oklahoma, died Friday, October 1, 2021 at the Oklahoma City VA Hospital in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He was born on Wednesday, May 21, 1958 to Herbert Dee and Norma Jean Gipson Willie in Talihina, Oklahoma.

Born and Raised in McCurtain County, but ventured all over the world. He was a man that wore MANY hats. Greg is a Navy Veteran, a licensed and ordained minister, a certified horse farrier, High School and Collegiate multisport referee, as well an independent benefit specialist with Aflac. Greg graduated from Broken Bow high school and attended OSU. Greg also graduated from Leadership Native Oklahoma Program through the American Indian Chamber of Commerce. He was voted in as the president of the Eastern Chapter of AICCO. In 2019 Greg was also appointed to be the director of officials for the 7G foundation in California. He received Chahtapreneur District 1, 2020 Business of the Year, for Willie Independent Insurance. Above all else Greg loved the Lord and then his family. He is a Rhema Bible Graduate. As a minister, he lead many services and traveled around the state speaking to congregations. He served as pastor of the Family Worship Center in Wright City and Broken Bow for several years. Greg loved his family and spending time with his grandchildren and teaching them about life and how to honor God, their families and their heritage. He loved to laugh, cut up with everyone and had an infectious laugh! Never met a stranger, and was always eager to encourage. He was so full of Joy! Greg also enjoyed schooling family in dominoes and cards, throwing horseshoes, fishing, boating on the lake, singing and dancing, breaking and training horses, riding horses, going to OSU games, traveling, sitting and talking about God, studying the bible and sharing God’s Word. Greg was a great mentor, leader and friend to everyone he met. The most loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend that will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. He was our Best Friend, Spiritual leader, our Safe place, the one we could go to and he would know just what God wanted us to hear and know. He would always lead us to God’s Love. He taught Us How to believe. Had the Strongest Faith ever seen. His Legacy will live on through us!

Greg was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, William Willie.

He is survived by his wife, Sandra Willie of Wright City, Oklahoma; one son and daughter in law, Gregory II and Beth Willie of Stillwater, Oklahoma; four daughters and sons in law, Sara and Jimpsey Factor of Ada, Oklahoma, Shannon Reynolds of Tyler, Texas, Laura and Reginal Park of Wright City, Oklahoma and Kathie and Micah Abney of Idabel, Oklahoma; his sister and brother in law, Latricia and Jerry Rangel of Midlothian, Texas; eleven grandchildren; They are so important to him- Kyle William, Elijah, Aidan, Amiya, Beans, Madison, Maddox, Kilaya, Gianna, Axton and Luca. Several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 9, 2021 at 10:00 A.M. at the Brumley Funeral Home Chapel in Broken Bow, Oklahoma with Pastor Darrell Price officiating. Interment will follow in the McGee Cemetery in Broken Bow, Oklahoma. A wake service will be held on Friday, October 8, 2021 for 6-8 P.M. at the Brumley Funeral Home Chapel in Broken Bow, Oklahoma. Arrangements are entrusted to Brumley Funeral Home in Broken Bow, Oklahoma.

Pallbearers will be Gregory Willie II, Kyle Park, Aidan Reynolds, Brandon Ham, Reginal Park and Micah Abney.
