A Celebration of Life Service for Georgia Touchstone will be held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, February 4th, 2020 at the Brumley Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at the Crown Hill Cemetery in Broken Bow. A visitation for family and friends will be held from 6:00-8:00 PM on Monday, February 3, 2020 at the funeral home.
Georgia was born on February 22nd, 1934 in Rough Edge, Oklahoma and passed from this life on Friday, January 31, 2020 in Broken Bow at the age of 85.
She was daughter of Stanley and Audrey (Baker) Copeland. She attended school at Rough Edge, Honobia, and she graduated from Battiest High School in the class of 1953.
On June 18, 1955, she married the love of her life, George Touchstone, Jr.
Georgia was affiliated with the Assembly of God Church. Also, many will remember her from the McCurtain County Courthouse where she worked for several years—first as a dispatcher for the Sheriff’s office; then secretary for the County Superintendent's Office and the County Court Clerk's Office; and finally, at the OSU Extension Office.
Georgia enjoyed gospel music—especially the Gaithers—and, as hobbies, enjoyed sewing and playing her piano. She will be remembered as a great mother and grandmother.
Georgia was preceded in death by—her parents, Stanley and Audrey Copeland; her husband, George Touchstone, Jr.; and one brother, Boyce Copeland.
She is survived by—one son, George "Buddy" Touchstone III (wife, Jennifer) of Broken Bow; three daughters, Anita McGowen (husband, David) of Broken Bow, Mary Powell (fiancé, Gary Edington) of Norman, OK, and Gayla Orr of Stigler, OK; one brother, Wayland Copeland (wife, Glenda) of Idabel; one sister, Sharon Webb of Broken Bow; six grandchildren, Melissa Kilmer (husband, Jason), Kristy Jack (husband, Bob), Jonathan McGowen (wife, Jessica), Josh Touchstone (wife, Tiffany), and Grant Powell & Madison Powell; four great-grandchildren, Morgan Battiest, Jordan Kilmer, and Jackson Touchstone & Kinley Touchstone; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
Mrs. Touchstone was a special lady and will be greatly missed.
