Franklin Delano Simpson Sr., age 84, of Eagletown, Oklahoma, died Wednesday, October 6, 2021 at the McCurtain Memorial Hospital in Idabel, Oklahoma. He was born on Friday, April 23, 1937 to Bernard and Fannie Cravatt Simpson in Hugo, Oklahoma.
Franklin loved his family and spending time with them. He served his country in the United States Army and was honorably discharged. In his younger years, he worked as a logger for Weyerhaeuser. Franklin was a loving father, grandfather, uncle, cousin and friend and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Franklin was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Mary Lee; his son, Milton Simpson and great grandson Michael Simpson.
He is survived by his son and daughter in law, Franklin Jr. and Regina Simpson of Broken Bow; his daughter, Wanda Bustamante of Eagletown; eleven grandchildren, La Donna Battiest or Wright City, Oklahoma, Linda Noah of Wright City, Oklahoma, Charlie Simpson of Golden, Oklahoma, Franklin Simpson III of Golden, Oklahoma, Darnell Williams of Idabel, Oklahoma; Russell Simpson of Horatio, Arkansas, Bryan Simpson of Eagletown, Oklahoma, Tallulah Villeda Of Broken Bow, Juanita Bustamante of Old Mexico, Santigo Bustamante of Idabel, Oklahoma and Carmen Litchford of Eagletown, Oklahoma; several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
A graveside service will be held Wednesday, October 13, 2021 at 10:00 A.M. at the Mountain Fork Presbyterian Cemetery with Pastor Edgel Samuel officiating. Services are entrusted to Brumley Funeral Home in Broken Bow, Oklahoma. Visitation will be general.
Pallbearers will be William Simpson, Franklin Simpson III, Russell Simpson, Damien Bravo, Cristobal Villeda, Demetrio Villeda, Franklin Simpson Jr. and Bryan Simpson.
