Herbert Dewayne “Road Boss” Cravin, of Holly Creek, passed from this life April 8, 2021 at his home surrounded by his loving family.  Dewayne was born February 27, 1941, in Mt. Herman, to Floyd Edward and Maudie Pearl (Price) Cravin. 

Dewayne was affiliated with the Cowboy Church in Glover and had lived in McCurtain County all his life.  He hauled logs for 40 years.  Dewayne enjoyed watching Judge Judy on television.  He enjoyed fishing and hunting in his younger years.  Dewayne loved to cook and spend time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  To his great-grandchildren, he was known as the ice cream man.  He also enjoyed gardening.

Dewayne married the love of his life, Mary Mayhall, on January 10, 1964, in Oklahoma City.  They enjoyed going to Puerto Rico, Canada, Wyoming, Salt Lake City, Utah, Las Vegas, Nevada and having fun together.

Dewayne was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Pearl Cravin; daughter, Cynthia Cravin; two sisters, Dorothy Strubble and Velma Porter; and a nephew, James Chilcoat.

Dewayne is survived by his loving wife, Mary Cravin, of the home; son, Perry Cravin, and Alta, of Idabel; daughter, Shelley Cravin-Clowers, of Holly Creek; brother, Archie Cravin, and Frances, of Lukfata; sisters, Ann Pannell Goodman, of Broken Bow, Jan Hankins, of Idabel, and Linda Citty, and Steve, of Burleson; grandchildren, Chance Cravin, and Christina, of Holly Creek, Cody Lopez, and Katlyn, of Cortez, CO, Jonathan Fields, of Holly Creek, Chris Fields, and Melissa Baird, of Sumner, TX, and Chance Bowline, of Broken Bow; great-grandchildren, Angelina Page Cravin, of Holly Creek, Miley Rose Cravin, of Holly Creek, Casey Joe Jamerson, of Holly Creek, Josie and Lincoln Wayne Lopez, both of Cortez, CO; special niece, Felicia Green, of Lukfata, along with other nieces and nephews; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Carl and Kay Mayhall, of Stigler, OK; sister-in-law, Jan Pope, of Edmond; special friends, Willene Gardner, of Broken Bow, Murl and Margaret McGuire, of Oklahoma City, Kenny and Janice McKinney, of Powderly, and Larry Ebahotubbi, and many other friends, and relatives.

A Celebration of Life Service will be Tuesday, April 13, 2021, at 2PM at the Brumley Funeral Home Chapel, with visitation will be Monday, April 12, 2021 from 6-8PM.  Lewis Prewitt and Jimmy Westbrook will officiate.  Burial will follow at Holly Creek Cemetery.
