Obituary

Chuck Wayne Bagsby, age 58, of Idabel, Oklahoma was born on March 30, 1963 to Leroy Bagsby and Eva Mae Akins in DeKalb, Texas.

He was a graduate of DeKalb High School in 1981. Chuck was a jack of all trades. Wasn't nothing his family thought he could not accomplish or master. He really loved his family and could make friends with very many people. He loved joking, playing dominoes, singing, dancing, and riding horses. Chuck was a loving husband, father, brother, brother in law, uncle and friend and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Chuck was preceded in death by his mother, Eva Mae Atkins,  his father, Leroy Bagsby; two sisters, Jeanette Roberts & Eva Nell King; one brother, Jackie Atkins and mother in law and friend, Shirley Ann Butler.

Chuck is survived by his loving wife of 16 years, Tammy Butler Bagsby of Idabel, Oklahoma; his seven children, Kelly Wayne Bagsby of Idabel, Oklahoma, Brandon Bagsby of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Vonderick Smith of De Queen, Arkansas, La'Darius Ricks of Clarksville, Texas, Kacey Thomas of Tokyo, Japan, Stacey Thomas Edwards and husband, Stefen of Moore, Oklahoma and Chelsea Thompson of Broken Bow, Oklahoma; his seven grandchildren, three brothers, Charles Atkins and wife, Dorothy of Idabel, Oklahoma, Rickey Bagsby of DeKalb, Texas, Dennis Bagsby and wife, Rosalind of DeKalb, Texas; five sisters,  Lucille Sparkman and husband, Roger of Idabel, Oklahoma, Liz Dowell  and husband, John of DeKalb, Texas, Kathy Bagsby  and husband, Larry of Idabel, Oklahoma, Barbara Bagsby and husband, Eanest of Clarksville, Texas and Linda Jackson  and husband, Greg of Clarksville, Texas; five sister-n-laws, Bridgette Hamilton and husband, William Mesquite, Texas, Raquel Larry and husband, Raymond of Idabel, Oklahoma, Kimberly Wyatt of Idabel, Oklahoma, Loretta Goston of Denison, Texas; eight brother-n-laws, Anthony Butler of Fort Worth, Texas, VanGene Golston and wife,  Ethel of Idabel, Oklahoma, Steve Golston and wife, Lorie of Idabel, Oklahoma, Ray Golston and wife, Deloris of Idabel, Oklahoma, Big Mike Golston and wife, Tamara of Denison, Texas, James Polk and wife, Shacopie of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Ladell Golston and wife, Laine of Denison, Texas and Lil Mike Golston of Denison, Texas; two special uncles, L.D. Bagsby and wife, Laura of DeKalb, Texas and Paul Atkins and wife, Sherry of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; three aunts, Laresse Murphy and husband, Jerry of Idabel, Oklahoma, Gwendolyn Traylor and husband, James of DeKalb, Texas and Annie Lee McCrary of California; a host of nieces,  nephews, cousins and friends; with special friends, Petey Burkins, Clyde Hurd, Curtis Hooks and Richard Smith.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 2, 2021 at 2:00 P.M. at the DeKalb Middle School in DeKalb, Texas. Visitation will be held Friday, October 1, 2021 from 6-8 P.M. at the Brumley Funeral Home Chapel in Broken Bow, Oklahoma.  Interment will follow in the Beaver Dam Cemetery in Beaver Dam, Texas with arrangements entrusted to Brumley Funeral Home in Broken Bow, Oklahoma. A reception dinner will be served for family and friends at Chuck's brother, Dennis Bagsby residence in Beaver Dam, Texas.
