Charles "Abb" Johnson, age 78, of Wright City, Oklahoma, passed away Wednesday, October 6, 2021 at the Cox Health South in Springfield, Missouri. He was born on Tuesday, June 15, 1943 to Charles M. and Mary E. Fields Johnson in Millerton, Oklahoma. He grew up there and after graduating from Valliant High School, he joined the military, serving his country in the United States Army. He then worked for Weyerhaeuser 30 years before his retirement. He was a loving son, brother, father, grandfather, uncle and friend and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Abb had a big heart and was a great person to all who knew him. He was funny and loved to pick on and pester people in a loving way. He was an outdoorsman at heart and had a fun competitive spirit, he loved having friends and family over and challenging them to a good game of poker, pool, darts, and target shooting. He also enjoyed hunting squirrel and deer and exploring on his four wheeler searching for arrow heads, which he had quite the collection.
Abb was preceded in death by his parents.
Abb is survived by his two daughters and sons in law, Charla and Donald Hensel of Frisco, Texas and Tammy and Tony Adcock of Weatherford, Texas; one sister, Diana Moore of Wright City, Oklahoma; four grandchildren, Crystal Ingle of Acworth, Georgia, Damon Johnson of Arlington, Texas, Lacy Sewell of Bridgeport, Texas and Michael Crocker of Fort Worth, Texas; Seven Great Grandchildren; several nieces and nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 16, 2021 at 2:00 P.M. at the Brumley Funeral Home Chapel Broken Bow, Oklahoma with Brother Randy Watkins officiating. Interment will follow in the Slater Cemetery in Wright City, Oklahoma. Visitation will be general (Wednesday 10/13 through Friday 10/15 from 9am-5pm) at Brumley Funeral Home in Broken Bow, Oklahoma. Arrangements are entrusted to Brumley Funeral Home in Broken Bow, Oklahoma.
Pallbearers will be Gabriel Dill, Edgar Bryant, Sam Howard, Marty Johnston, Tommy McCary, and Justin Young.
