Brenda Karen (Fails) Ivie, of Broken Bow, OK, passed from this life on January 9, 2021 at the age of 68.
She was born on December 26, 1952 in Oklahoma City, OK to James and Ethel (Ward) Fails.
Brenda is remembered by family and friends as being a hard worker who would not quit. She worked for the Choctaw Nation for twenty years as Headstart Coordinator. She had a very easy-going personality, and she could be quite comical.
Brenda enjoyed simple things in life, and one of them was gardening which was a great passion for her. She was also an accomplished writer having written eight books. And she was a hospitable person as she and her husband housed thirteen foreign exchange students in their own home.
Brenda was loved by everyone, and she will be greatly missed.
Brenda was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Michael Fails; daughter Sheila Ivie; and son, Jak Ivie.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 45 years, Tommy Ivie, of the home; sons, Blaine Ivie of Durant, OK and Zack Ivie (wife, Sarah) of Durant, OK; brother, Brian Fails (wife, Barbara) of Broken Bow, OK; sisters, Marsha Williams (husband, Bob) of Waycross, GA and Bobbie Frost (fiancée, Thomas Wilkinson) of Broken Bow, OK; granddaughter, Gabriella Ivie of Durant, OK; along with several nephews, nieces, extended family members and a host of friends.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, January 16, 2021 at the Chapel of the Pines in Hochatown, OK. Officiants will be Pastors John Crow and Jeremy Parham.
Services are under the direction of Brumley Funeral Home in Broken Bow, OK.
