Obituary

Bobby Ray Laster, age 91, of Broken Bow, Oklahoma passed away Sunday, December 19, 2021 surrounded by his loving family at Bear Creek Healthcare in De Queen, Arkansas. He was born on Sunday, June 8, 1930 to mother Ocie Laverne Stow Laster and father Charlie Gabe Laster in Clebit Camp, Oklahoma.

He was the second of five children and graduated from Battiest High School in 1948. He met Imogene Sue Benton in Broken Bow, Oklahoma and married in 1950 starting a family and living 71 blessed years together. Bob attended the First Assembly of God in Broken Bow. He also was a volunteer fireman from the Broken Bow Fire Department for 20 years retiring in 1979. He also served on the zoning boards for a number of years. He and Imogene were vendors in Canton, Texas for 29 years selling antiques and other merchandise. They also owned Laster's Log Cabin Antiques for 10 years. Shortly after retiring in 2008, he had a stroke, spending the next years relaxed aside Imogene. He loved the outdoors and watching log trucks passing by his house, counting them and telling Imogene how much each load weighed. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle, and friend. He will be truly missed by everyone who loved and knew him.

Bob is preceded in death by his parents; one son, Jim Ray "Skinny" Laster; his brothers, Charles, Harold and Jake Laster.

Bob is survived by his wife, Imogene Laster of Broken Bow, Oklahoma; his daughters and son in laws, Shirley and Robert Baker of Broken Bow, Oklahoma and Cindy and Jerry Mays of Broken Bow, Oklahoma; His sister and brother in law, Sue and Terry Davidson; Grandchildren, Brian Woods, Kevin Moore and wife, Daisha, Cody Ray Moore and wife, Alyssa, and Angie Laster and Gabe Laster. Great grandchildren; Garrett and Gracie Woods, Quentin and Vincent Moore, Marshall Woods, Dakota Laster and Gaige James, Caitlyn and husband Justin Williams, Lakyn Laster and Victoria Owens. Great-great grandchildren; Scarlet Rose Beatty, Hunter and Haiden Williams and several nieces and nephews. His beloved little fur friends, Buttons, Allie, Misty, Tequila, Ginger, Archie, Chester and Grumpert and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral service will be Wednesday, December 22, 2021 at 2:00 P.M. at the Bowser Family Funeral Home Chapel in Broken Bow with Terry Davidson officiating. Visitation will be one hour before the service from 1-2 P.M. at the Bowser Family Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in the Hochatown Cemetery in Hochatown, Oklahoma. Arrangements are entrusted to Bowser Family Funeral Home in Broken Bow, Oklahoma.
