Benny Ray Tushka, age 74, of Broken Bow passed from this life on March 15, 2021 in St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa. He was born on October 3, 1946 to Benson and Sweese Jones Tushka in Sacaton, Arizona.
Benny proudly served in the United States Marine Corp during the Vietnam War. He was a logger in his younger years then worked at Pilgrim’s Pride for 17 years and was currently employed with Choctaw Casinos. Benny enjoyed the outdoors, working in his yard, wading the creeks and fishing, and was an avid OU Sooners fan. He was affiliated with Kulli Chito Methodist Church of Broken Bow for many years. Benny was a loving husband, brother, uncle and friend. He will be missed by all who knew him.
He is preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Barrentine Tushka; one sister, Elencie Jessie.
Benny is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Sarah Ludlow of Broken Bow; one brother, Odies Tushka of Cherokee, North Carolina; one sister, Lwezie Colonahaski of Cherokee, North Carolina; special nieces, Ma’Shayla Colbert, Lavona Haury, and Regina Simpson; special nephews, Kaleb Ray Colbert and Farlin Jessie; special friend, Stanley Shomo; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Graveside services with military honors will be held on Saturday, March 20, 2021 at 2:00 P.M. at the Kulli Chito Cemetery in Broken Bow, Oklahoma with Brother Stanley Shomo officiating with services entrusted to Brumley Funeral Home in Broken Bow. Visitation will be Friday, March 19, 2021 from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at the Brumley Funeral Home in Broken Bow.
Pallbearers will be Harlen Ludlow, Theodore Ludlow, Lawrence Johnson, Darrell Samuels, Sidney Johnson and Willard Johnson. Honorary Pallbearers will be Jaron Kyle Willis, Kaleb Colbert, and Farlin Jessie.
The family has requested that those attending the funeral please wear a protective face covering out of respect for and in the interest of safety for others.
