Avis Marie Blackmon, 56, of Broken Bow, passed from this life August 19, 2020 in Ft. Smith, AR. Avis was born July 8, 1964 in DeQueen, to Willis Maytubby, Sr. and Cindy (Battiest) Maytubby.
Avis was a member of the New Life United Pentecostal Church, Broken Bow, and had lived in McCurtain County all her life. She enjoyed reading, teaching Sunday School, loving on her grandchildren, and Jesus.
Avis married the love of her life, Daniel Blackmon, June 27, 1987, in Grannis. They enjoyed loving on their grandchildren and spending time with them together.
Avis was preceded in death by her parents, Willis Maytubby, Sr. and Cindy Maytubby.
Avis leaves to cherish her memory, to her loving husband, Daniel Blackmon, of the home; her loving children, LaToya Blackmon, of Krebs, Chelsea Clark, and husband, Tony, of Okmulgee, and Kolton Blackmon, of Broken Bow; brothers, James Maytubby, of Durant, Willis Maytubby, Jr., of Hugo, Vince Maytubby, of Wright City, and Lance Maytubby, of Mead; sisters, Mayda Largo, of Scottsdale, AZ, and Liz Lee, of Durant; grandchildren, Titus, Landrie, Ryker, Paxton, Eastin, and Finley; several nieces and nephews; and numerous special friends.
A Celebration of Life Service will be Tuesday, August 25, 2020 at 2:00PM at the New Life United Pentecostal Church, Broken Bow, with Rev. Johnny Cheek and Pastor Ben Pollock officiating. Burial will follow at Slater Memorial Cemetery, Wright City.
Visitation will be Monday, August 24, 2020 from 6-8PM at the Brumley Funeral Home Chapel.
