Obituary

Ada Bel (Cubit) Bell, age 88, of Broken Bow, Oklahoma, died Thursday, August 26, 2021 at the Hill Nursing Home in Idabel.  She was born Wednesday, March 15, 1933 to Louis and Effie Wilson Cubit in Broken Bow, Oklahoma.

Ada was a member of the Maple Springs Baptist Church in Idabel where she serves as The Oldest Mother of the church. Mrs. Ada loved to sing in the choir and do missions with the church. Her favorite song is " Guiding Angel."  She loved her family and loved to spoil her grandchildren and especially when they were babies. When Ms. Ada was cooking for her family, they loved her turnip greens and pig feet.  She also enjoyed gardening, going to garage sales and traveling.  She loved to go out to Santa Ana, California to see family. Mrs. Ada worked 30 years for Tyson Foods as a USDA Inspector and was a member of the Eastern Star.   She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend and will be missed by all who knew her.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert Bell; her daughter, Ada Rochelle Bell; her brothers, John Cubit, Norman Cubit and Joe Davis Cubit and two sister, Ida Miles and Bobbie Perry.

Ada is survived by her sons and daughter in law, Ralph Cubit of Canby, Oregon, Charles and Clarise Cubit of Broken Bow, Oklahoma and William Bell of Dallas, Texas; her daughters, Roberta Bell of Arlington, Texas and Robin Bell of Arlington, Texas; her brother, Claude Cubit (Betty) of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; fourteen grandchildren; twenty three great grandchildren; ten great great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

A Homegoing Service will be held Saturday, September 4, 2021 at 10:00 A.M. at Maple Spring Baptist Church with Pastor Jimmie Williams and Reverend Charles Cubit officiating. Interment will follow in the Lukfata Cemetery under the direction of Brumley Funeral Home in Broken Bow, Oklahoma.  Visitation will be Friday, September 3, 2021 from 6-8 P.M. at the Brumley Funeral Home Chapel.  Arrangements are entrusted to Brumley Funeral Home in Broken Bow, Oklahoma.

The family requests all attendees to wear a mask due to Covid guidelines.
