<description><![CDATA[<img src="http://brumleyfuneralhome.com/components/comObituaries/obituarythumbnails/113_115592.jpg" alt="Edward &quot;Hap&quot; Booth" />Edward  “Happy Jack” Booth, 62, of Broken Bow passed away Tuesday, February 21, 2012 at Broken Bow.

The son of John Booth and Marie Perrin, Hap was born June 13, 1949 in Pickens, Oklahoma. He was a Vietnam Veteran serving his country in the U.S. Marine Corp. On April 13, 1995, Hap and Laura Bascle became life partners in Broken Bow. He drove a Long Haul Truck all of his adult life, retiring from Schuster Trucking Company in 2011.

He was preceded in death by his father, John Booth; mother, Marie Perrin; and several brothers and sisters.

Hap is survived by his partner, Laura Bascle, of the home; two sons and daughters-in-law, James and Donna Sue Booth of Eagletown, Alex and Megan Booth of Idabel; one grandson, Jayden Booth of Idabel; step-children, Roland and Mary Lou Bascle of Broken Bow, Stormey and Kenneth Taylor(his best friend and driving buddy) of Broken Bow; step-children from a previous marriage, Guy Johnson of Broken Bow, Barbie Andrade of Dierks, AR; step-grandchildren, Chris and Sandy Powers, Brittany and Roy Glen Boyd, Tony Bascle, Amber Taylor, Toni Brooke Taylor, all of Broken Bow, Alicia, Eliseo (Deebo) and Blake Andrade of Dierks, AR; step-great-grandchildren, Shayla Powers of Idabel, Banks Powers, Kendall Boyd and Katlyn Boyd, all of Broken Bow; the mother of his children, Wilda Booth of Broken Bow; and a host of friends and driving buddies.<p>[<a href="http://brumleyfuneralhome.com/pages/show_content.php?siteid=113&action=1&value=12&obituaries_action=3&obituaryid=115592">Sign Guestbook</a>]  [<a href="http://brumleyfuneralhome.com/pages/show_content.php?siteid=113&action=1&value=12&obituaries_action=5&obituaryid=115592">View Guestbook</a>]</p>]]></description>

<description><![CDATA[<img src="http://brumleyfuneralhome.com/components/comObituaries/obituarythumbnails/113_115590.jpg" alt="Dedrie Stephens" />Dedrie Renee Stephens, 22, of Broken Bow passed away Monday, February 20, 2012 at McCurtain Memorial Hospital.

The daughter of Mark E. and Leann R. (Price) Myers, Dedrie was born March 7, 1989 in Paris, TX. She was a 2007 graduate of Broken Bow High School, receiving many musical awards in choir and band during her time there. After graduation, Dedrie became the first Freshman Captain of the SOSU Color Guard and a member of KAPPA KAPPA PSI. On April 11, 2009, Dedrie and Caleb Stephens were united as one at the Charity Baptist Church in Broken Bow, OK. She was very involved with the Hugo Band and Color Guard and enjoyed music, singing and eating chips and salsa at Papa Pablanos. Most of all, Dedrie loved her family and the time she shared with children.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Viola and Bobby C. Myers, Frank Kelly; great-grandmother, Lena Hodges; one sister, Hope Myers; and one son, D.T. Stephens.

Dedrie leaves to cherish her life, Caleb Stephens, of the home; two daughters, Cadrie Renee Stephens and Cienna Rain Stephens, of the home; her mother, Leann Kelly and her husband, Jerry, of Broken Bow; her father, Mark Myers and his wife, Lisa, of Broken Bow; one brother, Nathan Myers of Broken Bow; three sisters, Emilee Guest of Broken Bow, Barbara Price of Broken Bow, and Jerry Price of Freemont, CA; several other family members and many friends.

<description><![CDATA[<img src="http://brumleyfuneralhome.com/components/comObituaries/obituarythumbnails/113_115591.jpg" alt="Vila Mae Burns" />Vila Mae Burns, 80, of Broken Bow passed away February 20, 2012 at her residence in Broken Bow.  

Vila Mae was born January 14, 1932 in Winters, TX.  She was a long time resident of Broken Bow and a member of the First United Methodist Church.   Vila Mae grew up in Hindricks Home for Children in Abilene, TX and graduated high school from Abilene High.  She went to Hardin Simmons University in Abilene.  After teaching in Hobbs, NM; she and the love of her life Lloyd Burns married and she received her Masters Degree from East Texas State in Commerce, TX.  “Mom was at her best when she taught, teaching was her calling.” Vila Mae retired from Broken Bow Public Schools and was a reading specialist. 
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Lloyd Burns in 2004; twin sister and one brother.

Vila Mae leaves to cherish her memory, one son, Greg Burns and wife, Cheryl of Broken Bow; four grandchildren, Mitchell Burns and wife, Hollie of Mounds, OK, Garett Burns of Stillwater, OK, Allison Burns of Wilburton, OK and Ann Mary Burns of Broken Bow, OK and host of other family and friends.

<title>Edna Mae (McConnell) Miller [04/21/1932 - 02/18/2012] </title>

<description><![CDATA[<img src="http://brumleyfuneralhome.com/components/comObituaries/obituarythumbnails/113_115522.jpg" alt="Edna Mae (McConnell) Miller" />Edna Mae (McConnell) Miller was born April 21, 1932 in Waldron, AR and moved with her family to Broken Bow as a small child to spend the rest of her life there.  She was the proud mother of four sons and delighted in visits from her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  Coming from a large family, her home was filled with photos of her grandparents, parents, aunts, uncles, siblings, cousins and descendants.  Her primary joys in life were her time spent with her extended family and her testimony of Jesus Christ, who called her home to Him on February 18, 2012 after an extended illness.

She chose to spend her final months at home, where she received daily visits from a host of friends, neighbors, and relatives.  She was blessed with in-home, round-the-clock, personal caregivers who attended her needs and grew to become part of her family.  The love and attention they showed her will be forever appreciated by her children.

Mrs. Miller was preceded by her parents, R.G. and Dovie McConnell; three brothers, William Brown, Grady McConnell, and Harold McConnell; and one sister, Margarett Stout.

Her memory will be cherished by many who include her four sons, Junior, Wesley, Mike, and Ed Miller and their families.  Surviving grandchildren include Krystal Weeks, Ben Miller, Zach Miller, Michelle Oaks, Gary Miller, Adam Miller, Joe Miller, Elijah Miller and Jennifer Adams; great-grandchildren who will remember her or hear stories of her include Ryan and Saraih Weeks, Lex Miller, Mason and Spencer Oaks, Land, Scott, and Kate Miller, and Kenzie and Josie Belle Miller.

Her surviving brothers are Emerald Brown and Roger McConnell.  Her three surviving sisters are Ada Brown, Thelma Davis, and Casey Cameron.  She is survived by a host of other family scattered from coast to coast and a lifetime of friends from Broken Bow and McCurtain County.

Delphas was born February 9, 1927 Smithville, OK.  She and George Brewer were married in Burney, CA on November 20, 1947 and shared 46 yrs together.  Delphas enjoyed quilting, playing solitare, watching game shows, especially Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune.  She was affectionately known as “Gran” by the kids that she served at the cafeteria with the Broken Bow School System.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband George Edmond Brewer; two sons, Norman Dale and Gary Lyle Brewer; daughter, Karen Brewer; granddaughter, Robin Lea Brewer.

Delphas leaves to cherish her memory her grandson, Gary Brewer and wife Minerva and two great-grandchildren, John Tidmore and Nikki Oliver all of Valliant, OK and numerous friends.

<description><![CDATA[<img src="http://brumleyfuneralhome.com/components/comObituaries/obituarythumbnails/113_115428.jpg" alt="Joy A. Gressett" />Joy Gressett, 82, of Broken Bow passed away February 17, 2012 at Medical Center of Plano, TX.  

The daughter of Millard F. and Luda (Gammon) Copeland, Joy was born August 28, 1929 in Battiest, OK.  Joy and Thomas were united in marriage on March 6, 1954 in Farris, TX.  She had been a member of this community for many years and had lovingly volunteered her time singing at the McCurtain Manor Nursing Home.  Joy was a homemaker and enjoyed taking care of her family, traveling, singing, playing games and participating in many activities at the Senior Citizens Center.  She also loved pretty things, especially jewelry.  She loved worshiping at her home church, First Assembly of God in Broken Bow.  
She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters; Juanell Harper and Loma McAdoo.  

Joy leaves to cherish her memory her beloved husband, Thomas Gressett of Broken Bow; two sons, William Lee Gressett of Frederick, OK and Gary Lynn Gressett of Broken Bow; one granddaughter, Elizabeth Arvell Gressett of Las Vegas, NV; one grandson, Daniel David Gressett and wife Kayla of Cameron, TX; one sister, Olene and Joe Beshirs of Durant, OK; two brothers, Cecil and Naomi Copeland and Lawrence and Val Copeland both of Mason, MI; numerous nieces, nephews, and other family members in the Copeland, Gammon and Gressett families as well as her church family and friends from the Senior Citizens Center.

The daughter of Willis G. and Lucy (Cooper) Wesley, Lucille was born April 6, 1920 in Broken Bow, OK.  She loved her family and enjoyed gardening, quilting, sewing and yard work.  Lucille was a member of Bokchito Methodist Church in Idabel and was involved in the Methodist Women’s Society.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Elliot Willie, three brothers, Harry, Emmitt and Williamson Wesley; niece, Cleta Wesley, great-niece, Christina Willis and sister-in-law, Lydia Wesley.

Lucille leaves to cherish her memory five nieces, Joy Ruiz, Gwen Wesley Pond and her husband, Mark, Lola Wesley, Rosie Wesley and Wilma “Tootie” Wesley all of Broken Bow; two nephews,Larry Jones of Broken Bow and Willis Wesley of Broken Bow; one half-brother, Mose Williams of Eagletown; great-nieces and nephews, Mark Wesley, J.P. <description><![CDATA[<img src="http://brumleyfuneralhome.com/components/comObituaries/obituarythumbnails/113_115067.jpg" alt="Jim Mack Hastings" />Longtime Broken Bow resident, Jim Mack Hastings, 90, passed away February 13, 2012, at the Broken Bow Health and Rehab Center.

The son of Joe M. and Daisy (Costilow) Hastings, Jim was born May 6, 1921 in Golden, Oklahoma. He served our country as a B-17 Ball Turret Gunner in the Army Air Force during WWII. At the age of twelve, Jim began working in a pharmacy and continued his work after receiving his Doctorate in Pharmacy from OU in 1947. He worked for over 65 years and was one of the oldest living active Pharmacists in Oklahoma. Jim was recognized by Lt. Gov. Mary Fallon for over 50 years of service to the City of Broken Bow as City Councilman and Mayor. He was also a long-time member and officer of the Broken Bow Masonic Lodge.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Riley Joe Harkey; one brother, Charles Gaffney Hastings; and one sister, Jeannette (Hastings) Bramblet.

Jim Mack leaves to cherish his life, five children, Barbara Mathis, Charles Owens, Frank Hastings and his wife, Dolores, Beth Watts, Vance Hastings and his wife, Lynda; daughter- in- law, Sherri Harkey; thirteen grandchildren, Billy Joe Harkey and his wife, Shelly, Larisa Parsons and her husband, Jimmy, Sandra Sawyer, Luke Cogburn, Kelly Cogburn, Dustin Owens, Katie Mitchell and her husband, Wade, James Hastings, Cara Hair and her husband, Michael, Brad Watts, Logan Daniels and his wife, Janelle, and Quentin Hastings, Kenneth Mathis and his wife, Marla; fifteen great-grandchildren, Riley Lynn Harkey, Billy (Keefer) Harkey, Tanner Harkey, Skyler Gammon, Wesley Johnson, Aubrey Cogburn, Devyn Montoya, Maggie Mitchell, Garrison Hair, Owen Hair, Sean Watts, Troy Herrera and Carter Herrera, Jeremy Parsons, Brittany Parsons and Tasha Perry and her husband, Chad; long-time friend, Prycilla Hill; one sister, Hazel (Hastings) Fannell and her husband, Louis; and many friends of Broken Bow.

The son of Dominga (Arce) and Martin Valencia, Fred was born May 29, 1935 in Dallas, TX. Fred married Sue Baker in Dallas, TX on August 8, 1964.  He was a veteran and served his country in the U.S. Army. He loved his family, grandchildren and taking care of foster children.  Fred enjoyed listening to gospel and Latin music.  Camping, traveling, deer hunting, carpentry work and working on cars were many things he enjoyed doing.  

He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters, Dora, Hortence and Rachel, two brothers, Joe and Richard. 

Fred leaves to cherish his memory Sue Valencia of the home; one son Vance Valencia Sr. and wife Latosha of Texarkana, TX; one daughter Catherine Valencia of Glover, OK; six grandchildren Nicholas Valencia, Quadry Harrison, Lauren Harragarra, Vance Timothy Valencia II, John Cusher and Camryn Valencia; one brother Tommy Valencia of Dallas, TX; one sister Delores Olivo of Dallas, TX; several nieces, nephews and many friends.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Friday, February 17, 2012 at the Brumley Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Edgel Samuel officiating. Interment will follow in Slater Memorial Cemetery, Wright City, OK.

Cody was welcomed on February 13, 1989 in Antlers, Oklahoma by his parents Benny Ray and Susan E. (Moye) Elliott. He was affiliated with the Rawhide Cowboy Church in Ardmore, OK. Cody worked as a welder for V&amp;E in Springer, OK and enjoyed the rodeo life. When not riding bareback horses or welding, Cody enjoyed hunting and fishing.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Rayburn Elliott; grandmother, Betty Jane Robbins; two special cousins, Casey and Mitchell Compton.

Cody leaves to cherish his life, his mom and dad, Benny and Susan Elliott, of Wright City; grandparents, Douglas and Loretta Moye of Wright City; one sister, Amanda Watson and her husband, Charles, of McLoud, OK; three nephews, Keandre Golden, Garrett Elliott and Seth Watson; one niece, Aubrey Watson; several aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends.
